Sad and disappointing. I will be retiring with Simon. I thought Crystal and Casey would be there until the end. Lee was okay, and his voice was interesting at times, but he wasn’t consistent. At times, he couldn’t carry at tune, even on the final show. Crystal and Casey always carried a tune, were both better guitar players, and were much more interesting than Lee. Of course America screwed up. How can we expect them to make the right decision? Somehow, George Bush was elected president for EIGHT years! The world was laughing at us then, too. So, yes, America has proved it can make a big mistake. It strikes again!

Chrystal’s voice captured us- it was absolutely breathtaking. Lee sounded mediocre at best. Nothing about his voice resonates with us. Chrystal clearly outsang Lee. I understand why Simon is leaving the show. it has become inundated with teenybopper airheads who vote based on image rather than talent. I am finished watching American Idol- Chrystal’s voice wasn’t even in the same ballpark as Lee’s.

im shocked and wont be watching again once simon gone thats it but love randy etc dont want reality stars judging please they cant sing never mind judge robbie be great or kylie and the voting got to be a fix crystal has been great form day one

Friends and I have watched every season – and we are so disappointed when people could not see the raw and constant talent of Melinda Doolittle – and I believe every season since has become a popularity contest and no longer a talent contest. Crystal, you ARE the winner. Anyone who cannot see that, does not know music or artistry. Lee, you will be great, but experience and training will make a huge difference. Either way, I and many friends will no longer watch this program as it is simply that – whoever has the most votes (popularity) will win regardless of talent. It’s all about who Americcas like or do not like. It has absolutely nothing to do with talent. Crystal, I’m waiting for your CD’s and your tours. Best of luck in your adventures. A friend from Canada.

Pretty sad. A singer that can’t stay on pitch is like a drummer that can’t keep time. That is their only objective. Everything else is just bonus. Crystal is probably one of the most unique artists to come along in a while. I know she will do much better than Lee but it had to hurt to not win. I have been performing for thirty years and if I were Lee I would have been embarased to accept the title!

First, Lee was sold to us as a paint store employee with a great voice and little singing experience (shy Lee). What American Idol didn’t tell us was about his two already produced albums (2007 & 2009) and contract for 3rd album that he had get a release from to appear on American Idol. Yes, his albums had went no where, but he was not the shy, inexperience, newly discovered singer/paint store employee that American Idol sold him as. If American Idol restricted voting to one person, one vote rule, then we have a different outcome. With the 10 to 15 year young girls voting 200 to 300 times for the guy that they think is cute makes the American Idol results more or less a Teeny Bopper Award not a true American Idol Award. American Idol needs to restrict voting to one person/one vote! It will substantially lower the vote count, but might make the American Idol Contest more fair and with better outcomes.

Here in New Zealand we had a delayed feed, although we could have cheated and looked at the net. We didn’t. I’m glad in a way Crystal was second, it is the death knell if you win. He’s obviously a great guy but I wouldn’t give him a USA nickel (if I had one) as a subway busker. Don’t worry he will know that too. Life has a way of balancing things up, a lesson some politicians may learn in November..

Ewwwww dislike dislike!… Either majority of Americans are stupid or the vote was rigged to get the maximum profit for the production company. Either way i guess Crystal will be more successful :)
