It’s been a while since Microsoft has been involved in discussions related to the smart phone market – but don’t take that for a sign that they don’t particularly care about the market. The Windows Phone 7 is set to change everything with what could be Microsoft’s biggest move in recent memory. Microsoft remembers very well how they planned to take a piece out of the console gaming pie, and after years of struggle they have done just that with the release of the Xbox 360 and Xbox live multiplayer platform.

It could be a dose of the same element that could push Microsoft back among the leaders of the smart phone market despite their recent delay at making any particular moves whilst Google's Android and Apple's iPhone has had time in the sun and as a result both have amassed their respective user-base.

But it could be Microsoft’s Xbox user-base that could help it plunge in to this fiery hot market and survive. Anyone who considers themselves a hardcore gamer is involved with Xbox live and to have access to it while on the move on their Windows Phone 7 OS phones could be a highly attractive offering.
There are already many games announced for Windows Phone 7 thanks to Xbox Live’s XBLA games. We will be sure to update you with more Windows Phone 7 developments in the future.
