Following President Donald Trump’s recent speech to the country, a former cardiologist who worked in the White House has openly raised worry about the president’s health. The cardiologist described the look and delivery of the message as being concerning.
A number of postings were published on X by Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who had been Dick Cheney’s cardiologist for many years. These posts were posted when President Trump was delivering his speech. In spite of the fact that Reiner has been known to be a vociferous critic of the president in the past, the emphasis of his remarks was entirely on Trump’s physical condition rather than politics.
Not a single person ought to be pleased to see the president in such a state. During the talk, Reiner noted that he seemed to be in poor health. He continued by saying, “I’m seriously concerned about the health of the president,” which was included in a previous tweet.
In addition, Reiner had a problem with the manner in which Trump delivered his statements, as well as the pace at which they were delivered. He said in one of his posts, “The pace of this address is manic,” describing the delivery as irregular and describing it as “manic.” “The tone of this speech does not quite match the festive background,” he said in another observation, pointing out that there was a mismatch between the substance of the speech and the context in which it was delivered.
Trump has consistently defended his health and fitness for office, despite the fact that he is 79 years old. The statements made by Reiner, on the other hand, rekindled the scrutiny that had been surrounding medical disclosures made by the White House, notably in relation to the diagnostic tests that Trump is said to have had earlier this year.
During prior interviews, Reiner cast doubt on statements made by Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary for the White House, about an MRI scan that President Trump had obtained some months previously. The notion that the imaging was routine or prophylactic was something that Reiner refuted when he was speaking to CNN at the time.
In response to this, Reiner said, “Well, there really is no preventative cardiac MRI.” For a guy who is 80 years old, this is not a typical test that would be performed on him in order to undergo advanced imaging. It goes without saying that the whole note has a tone that is rather peculiar, defensive, and evasive.
Further explanation was provided by him, stating that the timing of the examination prompted further inquiries. “First and foremost, this is not a component of the comprehensive physical examination that the president is undergoing,” Reiner said.
“He had that in April, and then in July he went through some additional testing,” the doctor said. When you consider the first administration of the president, you will see that, similar to the majority of presidents, he only completed one full medical examination each year. Therefore, this is entirely out of the ordinary.
Reiner also voiced his disapproval of the official explanations on the exams themselves, which he deemed to be lacking in clarity. Another thing that he mentioned was that it was full of euphemisms. “Once again, the president’s physician, Dr. Barbara Bell, has said that he has undergone sophisticated imaging. To be more explicit, what other kind of sophisticated imaging did the president possess? It was an MRI, as the president had said, right? Was it a computed tomography scan? Or did he possess both? Why don’t you simply put it in text form?
Remarks made by Reiner, a former cardiologist, have sparked a fresh discussion over transparency and the physical demands of the president as Trump continues his tenure in office. The White House has not publicly commented to Reiner’s most recent statements.
