Portland authorities are seeking public assistance in finding a 25-year-old woman missing since Christmas Eve, who may be facing a serious health emergency. The Portland Police Bureau reports that Lauren Deering was last seen around 10 p.m. on December 24 at her apartment near Southeast Woodward Street.

According to detectives, her disappearance is particularly worrisome because they believe she may be dealing with an acute medical condition that could endanger her without proper care. While police haven’t disclosed specifics about the medical concern, they’ve stressed that time is of the essence. Officers are asking anyone with information about Deering’s whereabouts to contact them right away.

Deering is described as a white woman, roughly 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police haven’t released information about her clothing or whether she left on foot or by vehicle. The investigation is being treated as a missing person case, with officers actively pursuing leads.

Detectives are searching the area around Deering’s apartment and examining any information that might reveal her movements after Christmas Eve. The quiet nature of Southeast Portland neighborhoods late on Christmas Eve makes tracking sightings more challenging. Police are counting on help from the public, including neighbors, business owners, and anyone in the area that night, to provide crucial details.

Authorities emphasize the importance of immediate reporting. Anyone who sees Deering should call 911 right away so officers can respond and ensure she gets medical help if necessary. For non-urgent tips, people can email [email protected] and reference case number 25-352056 to ensure proper routing.
Police haven’t indicated any suspicion of foul play, noting there’s currently no evidence of a crime. Their main focus is on Deering’s health and safety.

Missing person cases involving potential medical emergencies receive priority attention, especially during winter when cold weather and short days increase risks. Officers note that even minor details such as spotting someone matching Deering’s description walking, entering a store, or seeking help could prove important.

Police encourage friends, family, and community members to share official information to raise awareness while avoiding speculation that might hinder the investigation. As the search progresses, authorities remain optimistic about locating Deering quickly and safely.

They’ve promised updates as new information emerges and emphasized that public help is vital in resolving such cases. Anyone with information should contact the Portland Police Bureau immediately.
