Detroit police are asking for the public’s help in locating 15-year-old Zarryan Jones, who was reported missing after she left her home without permission and did not return. Authorities say she was last seen on Saturday, Dec. 6, in the 5000 block of E. Outer Dr., and her family has not heard from her since.

Investigators released identifying details to assist in the search. Zarryan is 15 years old, stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs roughly 110 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, she was wearing black clothing, white socks and white Crocs.

According to police, Zarryan left her residence at some point on Saturday and failed to come home, prompting her family to alert authorities. That stretch of E. Outer Dr. runs through a residential area on Detroit’s east side, and officers have been canvassing the neighborhood while continuing to gather leads.

The Detroit Police Department’s 9th Precinct is handling the investigation, and officials say community assistance is crucial in cases involving minors who leave home without permission. Missing child cases often rely heavily on tips from neighbors, friends and anyone who may have seen the young person after they left the residence.

Police have not released additional information about the circumstances leading up to her disappearance or whether Zarryan has a history of leaving home. What they have emphasized is the need for anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to reach out immediately.

The department noted that the clothing description may help people recall sightings from the weekend. The combination of black clothing with white socks and white Crocs stands out, and officers hope someone in the area noticed her walking or getting into a vehicle around the time she went missing.

As the search continues, the department is urging residents to remain alert and report anything that may help locate her. Friends, extended family and classmates are also encouraged to come forward with any information that could assist investigators in piecing together her movements after leaving home.

The case has drawn increasing concern as more time passes without contact. Cold temperatures and early sunsets in December add urgency for authorities working to ensure Zarryan is found safe. Police are also coordinating with local organizations that frequently assist in missing teen incidents, expanding outreach beyond the immediate neighborhood.

Anyone who has information about Zarryan Jones’ disappearance, or who may have seen her since Saturday, is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department’s 9th Precinct at 313-596-5940. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.

Authorities stress that even small details can be significant. A possible sighting, a social media post, or information about where she may have been headed could help narrow the search. In cases involving missing minors, early tips often make the difference in finding the child quickly.

Zarryan’s family continues to wait for updates as police work to bring her home safely. The department plans to release additional information if new leads develop, and officers will remain in the area where she was last seen while the investigation continues.
