A Florida substitute teacher who referred to herself as a “million dollar prostitute” and twerked in front of students was fired and arrested Monday following a chaotic classroom episode that ended with her being handcuffed and removed from the building.

Angela Faith Jourdan was taken into custody after deputies responded to a disturbance at Lake Minneola High School in Minneola, Florida, around 10:20 a.m. The Lake County School District confirmed her termination was effective the same day.

“Good afternoon. We are aware of the arrest. Parents have been notified. The substitute teacher was hired 2/4/2025, and employment was terminated today,” the district said in a statement.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Jourdan made a series of explicit and inappropriate remarks to students during the incident, including telling them she would engage in sexual activity with them. She was also accused of twerking in the classroom, yelling, and slamming her hands on a desk before authorities arrived.

The situation escalated further as the class period ended. A student told investigators that as the bell rang and students began filing out, Jourdan singled her out. “As the bell rang and students began exiting, [REDACTED] stated she was among the last to leave when Ms. Jourdan yelled at her, called her a derogatory name, and placed her hands on [REDACTED] head and the back of her neck before moving her hand toward [REDACTED] throat,” a case report states.

When a school resource deputy arrived and found Jourdan “yelling incoherently,” an administrator attempted to de-escalate. “Assistant Principal Pannett entered and instructed Ms. Jourdan to gather her belongings and leave the classroom,” the report reads. She refused, telling deputies she did not want to be tasered.

Bodycam footage obtained by News 6 captured the confrontation as deputies worked to remove her from the room. Jourdan argued back defiantly throughout. “I am not a threat and I will not be killed,” she told officers. “I already got tased by the police in Pine Hills and I double-dare you.”

She continued: “You thought that was a weapon, right? Then you’re gonna say I was a threat.” Deputies ultimately handcuffed her and escorted her out of the building. The incident report notes that Jourdan has a history of bipolar disorder and that her behavior was consistent with a possible “mental health episode.”

She now faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, simple battery, and two counts of disrupting a school function. Lake County School Board Chair Bill Mathias said he was notified promptly and was struck by how students responded. “That was very moving to me,” Mathias said, noting that students appeared to recognize the situation may have had a mental health dimension and reacted with compassion accordingly.
